First tactical propulsion test for Emergency Debris Removal mission at ONERA.

Updated: 18 hours ago

🔥We just fired up the first version of our orbital kick-stage engine! 🔥

We are conducting a test campaign at ONERA to check the low-energy propulsion devices for Interceptor: igniters, thrusters, and orbital engines.

☄ Our debris removal mission ☄ requires highly efficient and precise types of thrusters to safely maneuver and dispose of debris weighing tons. Thanks to a modular combustion chamber we are testing different combinations of propellants and ignition modes, conducting nearly a hundred runs.

These photos show our thrusters and orbital engine in a test setup, the transparency of the plumes indicates the high combustion efficiency.

Congratulations to Dark's team for this milestone and many thanks to our test partner ONERA - The French Aerospace Lab for their support!

Thruster: Methane/Oxygen

Orbital Engine: Ethane/Nitrous Oxide
