RISE, our in-house OS, will have to operate many different missions, from debris removal to hypersonic testing.
To do this, we tailored the avionics to reap the rewards of a common functional architecture. We favored using standard and widely distributed components - and selected specific ones only where necessary. The system is smaller than conventional onboard computers and costs only a few K€.
This platform-based approach, already proven in other industries, will allow us to radically reduce costs for the European space ecosystem, as our product can cover multiple markets.
